Miss Kitty Takes a Picture is a seven process fine art print by Peregrine Honig produced through DPR Gallery and McNeese University’s Tuminello Visiting Lecture Series. Sponsored by Legion Paper and Greenleaf and Blueberry pigment, the signed edition of seventy five is available October 20th. Hand-embellished with six layers of ink and one woodcut on deckle cut, pale blue Italian Pescia paper, the final image of a white cat attempting to take a selfie with a rotary phone plays with ideas of technology and identity in pastel palette and children’s book aesthetic. Miss Kitty’s ruffed neck, a display of wealth and refinement, is attached to a dress patterned in fans or birdies- Easter eggs to Only Fans a Shuttlecocks. The fine red line of her phone nods to George Petty’s pin up girls and the prefix on the dial is 337, Lake Charles, where the print was made.
